“Fine except I had the location wrong.”
First, this IS NOT Hotel Giardino recommended by Rick Steves for it's great location. My bad. Use Google Maps! This was a fine, comfortable, clean and affordable B&B far removed from central Rome. Public transit is convenient, but it is 30 min bus + 30 min metro to Termini (central train station). Bus runs right past the B&B, and bus/Metro are covered by Roma pass or multi-day Metro pass (which you are going to need anyway) so the public transportation is nearly free... except for the hour transit time each way. Also the bus is an occasional no-show... we missed a Vatican tour when no bus came in over an hour. But we had no complaints with the accommodations or our hosts. Also the restaurant right across the street was tasty and cheap. I figure we saved at least 100 Euros a night over a central Rome hotel, so this can be a good choice, but realize it is suburban
