Generally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Convenient for Bus to/from centre of Rome though directions from metro to bus could explain where to find bus stop (keep turning right as you come out of metro at valle aurelia). A very pleasant few days. Bear in mind that many establishments in this category will not have arrangements to accept payment by card - cash is usually expected.

A really nice and quiet bed and breakfast, clean and welcoming. Owners were very nice and helpful.
Had problems with shower where there was no hot water and the room was cold.
The restaurant opposite had intermittent closing times so had to go to bed hungry on some days.
Getting to the city by bus which stops just outside the b & b takes about 25 mins and is a nice scenic ride. Would go there again.Overall, a nice experience. My partner and I Loved it!!Did not think much of the breakfast, and it would have been nice to have had a tray of ready to make tea / coffee in the rooms. Well I supposse that is what you get for the price paid.Overall, a nice experience. My partner and I Loved it!!

We have only just returned home to America a few days ago. After we left Rome, we spent time elsewhere in Italy, France and England.
For some unknown reason, our computer is not allowing us to complete your form to rate our stay at your Bed and Breakfast. However, I will tell you that we were quite pleased with our room, the breakfast, the competence of you and your wife, the surroundings were beautiful. It did seem a little further from the center of the city than what seemed to be indicated by the map on internet, and it would have been helpful if we could have used our credit card for payment. I'm not sure if you are aware, but when Americans use the ATM machines to get cash, it doesn't matter how much money we have in our accounts, there is a limit on how much each person can draw out in one day. So, for us we could each only draw out the equivalent of about 200 euros. Since we were only there 2 days, and needed money for transportation, food etc and for purchasing a few souvenirs (and as you will remember to mail our 2 boxes back to the States) having to pay cash for our room took nearly every euro we had been able to get, until we could get back to an ATM machine the day of our departure (after the visit to the Post Office). So, it would have been more helpful if we could have used our credit card to pay for the room.
Aside, from that.......we loved your place and enjoyed the opportunity to meet you and your lovely wife. You have turned your home into a very lovely Bed and Breakfast and were so very accommodating to your guests. We deeply appreciated your efforts on our behalf by picking us up from the airport and for the enormous assistance with getting our packages mailed.
Thank you very much.

Our hosts were very helpful and considerate. They offered to pick us up from the airport, which was a great benefit given that it was a good 20 minute drive by highway. The 40 euro charge was less than it would have cost for a taxi. Travel to downtown sites can be accomplished by catching the bus right in front of the property and then connecting with the metro (same ticket as bus). In all, the trip takes no more than 30 minutes. Our room was very clean with a large bathroom. Good value for money in a quiet neighborhood in the suburbs. If you want to stay downtown, this is not the place for you.

Vivamente consigliato.

The accommodations themselves were lovely and as expected. I thought breakfast was great and the location almost perfect. If I had read other peoples review on the web site I would have known that credit cards were not accepted. Since I was asked to guarantee the stay with credit card I should have been informed that I could not actually pay that way. The map I was given was very hard to follow as no distances or side streets are indicated. This was not the detailed map I now find on the web site. Again, I had not seen the web site and the map there. All email reservations should have a link to the map in the web site included with the confirmation. These problems, albeit partially due to my own lack of preparation, made what could very easily have been a wonderful time seem less than desirable. People do not want to have to work, by preparation, to have an enjoyable vacation.

As a first time visitor of Rome and third time in Italy. I enjoyed the comfort of a private residence (B&B) to get to know the Eternal City. The manager was very helpful with specific information on how to get to Rome. I also appreciated his assistant help. We returned to Giardino degli Aranci rather late on the way back to the USA. She was there to welcome us. GRAZIE!

the B&B hotel is very nice and well kept, the owners are very helpful in trying to help you around. We recommend it for quietness. A little far from anything, and pay attention at night where you get off at the bust stop! Make sure to have some snacks if you get hungry at night, no store or restaurant close by, be ready to walk. The only complain we have is the hot water in the shower that comes slowly, have patience! We recommend having an electric pot of coffee (with a timer) in the breakfast room so you don’t run out of coffee for the rest of the gests. And it would have been good if the owner told us about paying cash preferably! Other than that, thank you very much Dionisio and Donatella!! We had a great time!

“Fine except I had the location wrong.”
First, this IS NOT Hotel Giardino recommended by Rick Steves for it's great location. My bad. Use Google Maps! This was a fine, comfortable, clean and affordable B&B far removed from central Rome. Public transit is convenient, but it is 30 min bus + 30 min metro to Termini (central train station). Bus runs right past the B&B, and bus/Metro are covered by Roma pass or multi-day Metro pass (which you are going to need anyway) so the public transportation is nearly free... except for the hour transit time each way. Also the bus is an occasional no-show... we missed a Vatican tour when no bus came in over an hour. But we had no complaints with the accommodations or our hosts. Also the restaurant right across the street was tasty and cheap. I figure we saved at least 100 Euros a night over a central Rome hotel, so this can be a good choice, but realize it is suburban.

“Nice private location”
Me and wife drove by car there and stayed three nights to visit Rome. Rome weather is excellent in May - don't know why July and August are top tourist season. We were the only guests and had a room on the third floor below the sloping roof. The marble slab stairs and stone tile hallways were impressive. We had a good sized room, large comfortable double bed, some kitchen facilities and shared bath. The satellite TV had 100+ Italian channels. The owners were friendly. The lady spoke a few words English but the husband was a little better with it. In the third floor beedroom, watch the sloping ceiling. You are guaranteed to bump your head at least a dozen times. The internet signal on third floor was weak and I occasionally went down one floor in the hall way for better signal. Placing the router with antenna on the second floor instead of first would probably fix it. Car parking is on the street and not on the premises. But there was no problem finding street parking. Make sure you run the bath hot side tap for a few minutes for hot water to get up to the third floor. They only take cash payment and no credit cards. You can pay anytime during your stay. There is a bus that stops near the place to take you to metro and you should eventually wind up at the main Termini metro station. If you drive there, don't try to drive to the Vatican. Rome driving is really crowded and discouraging. The B&B owner suggested I drive the car to Cipro metro station and park the car there. Big mistake. After enduring the super congested traffic, there wasn't a spot of parking on this "commercial" parking lot. Cars were parked on every inch of space that you can imagine - including sidewalks and whatever. I never saw police give parking tickets in Rome. It's just a necessary way of life there. The best bet is to drive your car to the Rome Aurelia (FR5) train station then enter the bus parking lot and find a parking spot on the back of the lot, on the sidewalk or wherever - like everybody else does. Trains go to the main Termino station every half hour - but sometimes are late or canceled. The GPS coordinates that should get you to the station "parking" are N 41.88362, E 12.39457 If you board the FRx trains they serve the greater Rome metro area where metro trains do not. But there was no way to buy tickets at the Aurelia station or the train nor did anyone come to check. We rode down to the main Termino station and then bought a 3 day tourist pass (11 Euro) at a "Tabbacha" shop (news stand).

“A reasonable compromise”
The place is quite small, and for the first night we had a top-level room just
under the roof - we had to watch ourselves to avoid bonking our heads against the
ceiling. The douche and WC was next to the room. For the next night we got another
room which was both more spacious and had everything inside. Pizza in the
restaurant next door was the best.

Over all very good but a little isolated when it comes to shops etc. There is nothing in the immediate area if you don't have a car but access to Rome is easy on public transport and can take 45/50 mins. Either eat out or bring some basic supplies back.
There is another local restaurant that will pick you up and return you for free and Dionisio will call them if you want to make a reservation.
If you do have a car leave it and get the public transport.
It's clean and safe and runs till midnight.
Take the (906) bus to Valle Aurelia. Just sit on the bus until it winds down the back streets of Cornelia and comes to a dead end where the bus swings round. The sloping path leading off goes to the station. On the way back just reverse your steps and catch the 906 back on it's circular route. Take note of your immediate surroundings at the B&B as the bus comes back from the opposite direction .
Take a note of the address/phone so you can show it to anyone if you need help/directions.
Over all you are left pretty much to your own devices and it's not a hotel but you're not paying city centre prices!!
If you need advice or are a bit nervous of the public transport my email is on here.…….

Very nice quiet location, great for relaxation. Welcoming stuff but not very good english. I would definitelly reccomend a car, as the bus goes very randomly and takes half an hour to reach the metro. No store or pub nearby, best to shop at the metro station. No credit card and ofcourse no ATM nearby, so have to plan in advance. Great experience never the less.

Our stay at "Giardino Degli Aranci" B+B was wonderful and fitted our needs perfectly. we did not want to stay in a hotel, where we would be isolated from we real italian experience. Dionisio and Donatela are wonderful people and were as helpful as anyone coul be. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was always cleaned to a high standard we were pleasantly surprised because we read in other comments that breakfast was served in a cafe across the road. This is no longer the case as breakfast was prepared for us in an upstairs room. We booked the room with the en-suite bathroom (No bath shower room). Rome city centre was easily + cheaply accessable by bus + metro. The B+B had a supply of the bus/metro tickets available, which was very helpful. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay with Dionisio + Donatela. The only improvement we would have liked would be tea + coffee making facilities in the rooms. We highly recommend this B+B as a confortable base from linch to explore Rome and Lazio. We hope that you enjoyed the small gift that we left for you. Sorry if the box was a little damaged in the flight over from England.
